Community Care Initiative
We are proud to be able to help charitable organizations through our crafting. Since the store opened in 2019, our main focus was creating a safe space for crafters of all kinds, and being able to support communities in need is an extension of that focus. Each month we will have a dedicated charity and submit completed donations!
Knitted Knockers is an organization that collects special handmade breast prosthetics for women who have undergone mastectomies or other procedures to the breast. These knit and crochet prosthetics are a light and comfortable alternative to traditional ones.
We will be making and collecting them throughout the year and have Knitted Knocker events where we join together as a group to make Knockers for donation to hospitals and oncology centers.
Patterns for both knit and crochet versions as well as yarn requirements are available on their web site.
Hate Not Hate
We ask knitters, crocheters, and loomers to make handmade blue hats and donate them to Hat Not Hate, an organization that visits schools across the country to raise awareness and stand up to bullying. In October, National Bullying Prevention Month, they distribute the hats to schools across the country for students to wear, empowering them to stand up to bullying.
Any pattern is welcome, there are also pattern suggestions on their website:
Knots of Love
Founded in 2007, Knots of Love collects hand-knit and crochet beanies to deliver people going through chemo and blankets for babies in NICU incubators.
We collect for Knots of Love throughout the year.
Patterns and yarn specifications are available on their Web site.
Knit the Rainbow
Knit the Rainbow (KtR) was founded in 2020 to help homeless LGBTQ+ youth in New York City survive the brutal winters. We are an official drop-off point for KtR and collect knit & crochet garments (hats, scarves, gloves, blankets) for donation.
More information is available on their Web site.
The Elizabeth Coalition helps the homeless and near homeless by giving people the tools and support they need to live healthy, self-sufficient lives. We collect knitted and crocheted clothing and blankets throughout the year for the Elizabeth Coalition. Read more about them here

Supporting A Community
The mission of S.A.C.K. is to inspire groups of volunteers around the country to crochet/knit, collect and donate bar soap to their local food pantries, homeless shelters, relief efforts, mission trips, social service agencies and veterans clinics. We collect knitted and crocheted soap sacks throughout the year for S.A.C.K. to distribute.
